When I was at the CTMH Convention in July, I had the pleasure, again, of listening to storyteller extraordinaire, Stacy Julian. She was talking about all of the amazing products in her Close To My Heart line STORY BY STACY. She was very excited to talk about how they were all now tied up into one neat little package called “STORYTELLER”. It hit me when she was talking that it would be a bit overwhelming for someone who was not familiar with the products, or had not previously used them in a structured environment, to really make full use of her “Storyteller” How-To Book. And that’s when “The Storyteller Series” was born!!
We will meet once during September and then, starting in October, twice a month, until December. During each session we will discover and practice using one of the awesome mini-albums in the Story by Stacy line of products. I’ll detail those in a moment. Each class in the series will be carefully crafted to lead you effortlessly through every step for each program. At the end of the series, you will have 3 mini-albums, 1 12 x 12″ album to share and cherish. You will also have your own copy of a How-To book that you can use over and over again as you work independently (or with your friends!).
Our first meeting will be about 2 1/2 hours in length. I’ll give you an overview and show you all of the product we will be using (including all your albums!). We’ll work through the guide to Story Starter and then get you started on crafting your pages. You’ll get to take your very first mini album home with you to finish and start showing off!!
We’ll meet twice during October.
Our first class, (which will be 2 to 3 hours) will start with Show & Tell, so make sure to bring your finished Story Starter. There’s nothing like everyone oohing and aahing over your work. Trust me. You’ll love it! Then we’ll get right down to work on our Short Story, the second mini album. This is an amazing process that is stunning in its simplicity and left me dumbfounded the first time I worked my way through it. At first I was like “no way” “this is never going to work” “you want me to do what with my pictures??” But by the end I felt so gratified with what I had accomplished and wanted more. I know you will too!
The second class we’ll continue working on our Short Story albums. This class will be about 2 hours.
We’ll meet twice in November.
Our first class (which will be about 2 hours) will start with Show & Tell, so make sure to bring your finished Short Story! We’ll then turn our attention to the third and final mini album Stories I Love. We’ll walk through the process with one of your photos, work on the album itself, and then you’ll take it home to continue. This particular album is made to be added to and so is never really done!
Our second class (about 2 hours) will start with some Show & Tell, so make sure you bring your Stories I Love album (no matter where you are in the creative process). Once that’s done, we’ll dive right into the Storyteller How To Book! Then I get to do some Show & Tell, and we’ll get to work building our “foundation page” for our Extended Story album. You’ll take that home to finish, if necessary.
We’ll meet once in December for about 2 hours.
For our December class, please bring your completed Extended Story page so we can all share! We’ll then continue to work on our additional pages, which you will take home to complete.
Cost: There are three choices –
- Pay by September 8th: $155.00
- Pay in September by registration deadline $170
- Pay with three monthly installments of $60 (September, October, November) – first payment is due by September 15th.
There will also be a BONUS gift for completing all the homework! You’ll get your choice of one of the Story Starter packs. Not too shabby!
