AS WE SAY GOODBYE TO 2020

This year has been like no other in our lifetime. It has tested us in ways few of us could have imagined, and while it’s clear the pandemic still has a grasp on our country (and this world) I can see something positive and good is happening. We are starting to embrace the simpler things in life once again. And that, my friends, is definitely something to celebrate!

I would like to send my thoughts and prayers to everyone who has been affected by this terrible virus, and express my gratitude to frontline workers, caring for our most vulnerable in impossible circumstances. Thank you for giving your strength to so many.

Take heart; slowly but surely the pandemic will fade, so let’s welcome 2021 warmly!

May God bless us with good health and happiness in the New Year. May we all soon be blessed with lots and lots of warm hugs from friends and family. May we all continue making memories and enjoying this special time of year (even if it’s virtually) with those we love, and may the Lord bless us all with an end to Covid sooner rather than later. Amen

I’d like to end with a couple of quotes that have really made me think. I hope they inspire you as well.

I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly, you’re doing something.

Neil Gaiman

Maybe this year, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives not looking for flaws, but looking for potential.

Ellen Goodman

Tonight’s December thirty-first, / Something is about to burst. / The clock is crouching, dark and small, / Like a time bomb in the hall. / Hark, it’s midnight, children dear. / Duck! Here comes another year!

Ogden Nash

Happy New Year!

Valerie
