This month I wanted to try something different, so I went to the “Magic” Idea Book, and this layout ended up being a whole bunch of “firsts”! I decided to try my hand at a sliding photo, giving me room for one more photo. It was my first time trying anything like this, so it took me a bit to get it just right, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out! In the photo above, I left the slider open. Can you find it? Look for the large, purple button! The first photo of the right page (right below the full layout photo) shows you the slider closed. The second photo shows you the slider open, revealing the extra photo. I used Flaxen cardstock as my base colour, another thing that I have not done before, and it really worked. The font I used for my journaling is Fontastic Fonts – DJ Fancy, and I actually wrote it using my Cricut Explore – yet another first for me!! The Title font, also cut (in Crystal Blue) on my Cricut Explore, is from A Frightful Affair. Drawing on the honeycomb design in the middle strip of paper, I added some patterns from the Honeycomb stamp set. Finally, to finish things off I added some embossed metal badge buttons and two different types of camera-themed washi tape. To make it perfect, I added photos of my two favourite guys!! 😉
***Just as a side note: I decided to use my sticker maker to attach all the letters. The last time I used it (it’s been awhile) there was no problem, but I noticed that this time, the glue is not adhering very well. That must mean that the glue on the roll has a shelf life!!***
